When apocalyptic flooding drowned Earth beyond recognition, humanity took to the stars for salvation. Mutated alien-sea creature hybrids evolved on the abandoned planet, and the solar system filled with new life. Survivors rebuilt civilization aboard a massive starship, and Earth's old history was forgotten, pushed aside in the name of progress. The planet remains unexplored, out of fear of the potential dangers it holds.

Eight thousand years after Earth's destruction, Nuwa awakens from the last cryopod, with no clues to their identity save for their name and an astrolabe that points only to Earth. In order to learn more about themself they join the first ever expedition to the old planet: exploring and surveying the oceans learning more about their crew members and themself, and perhaps even unearthing the truth about Earth's extinction.
